They are both popular. They are both beautiful, compact and very efficient power-houses! When we interviewed ten people and asked them what bullet blender they would recommend for us to make quick smoothies, blend purees and consistent juices, we want something simple and super easy to use and clean. Four of them told us to go for Nutri Bullet blender, and another four suggested that we get the Nutri Ninja blender and some two persons mentioned some other top of the line bullet blenders. This minimal survey of a small part of LA shows how popular these two top blenders are. So if like us, you have been asking around for the best bullet blender to buy, you might be perplexed as to which is better, the Nutri Ninja or the Nutri Bullet?
Both blenders come with durable motor power, a blender base, and some other features. But these things don’t count so much as the performance of a blender and what it can do. So we brought in these two blenders, and we tested them. We know that your needs in a blender are different from ours and so, we have tested and compiled results of comparisons based on several grounds or requirements of the (whatever we can call the person handling the blender: blender or blender owner!)
Which is Better Nutri Ninja or NutriBullet?
Both of them are low maintenance, versatile bullet sized blenders, and they are great handy companions for persons who takes healthy meals on the go. They are both sturdy and built with quite enough power to blend almost any fresh fruits or vegetables into a nutritious smoothie.
For the sake of our tests, we got the NutriBullet Pro 900 and the Nutri Ninja Pro, and we set them side by side.
#1 – Overview
FIRST CONTENDER: NUTRI NINJA
- Pro Extractor blades break down whole foods, vegetables, ice, and seeds
- 1000 watt motor
The Nutri Ninja Pro blender comes with a mighty motor that works with 1000 watts. This means enough power to crush, chop, grind, and pulverize whatever you throw in it.
The Nutri Ninja Pro is very good even with frozen fruits and ice. It comes with three cups, all of which are compatible with the robust blender base. All three cups are BPA free in the 24 oz size, and the small cups are 18 oz and 12 oz. All three cups have what Nutri Ninja aptly terms Sip and Seal Lids because they are very convenient to drink from any time or anywhere and they are also safe to be washed in a dishwasher.
The Nutri Ninja Pro’s blades are so powerful that they blend flax seeds and dried nuts into powder in minutes.
In the box, you also get, among other things, a recipe book with 75 different sweet recipes.
SECOND CONTENDER: NUTRIBULLET
- 15-Piece set
- 900 watt motor, Power supply: 120V
The NutriBullet Pro 900 has its strengths. First, the 900-watt motor power is strong enough to pulverize, grind and blend fruits and vegetables so that your smoothies come out as smooth and as consistent as you would enjoy them.
Similar to the Nutri Ninja Pro, the NutriBullet comes with two powerful extractor blades that are efficient in making sweet blends comfortably. In our tests, the NutriBullet Pro 900 blended flax seeds, celery and some tough vegetables (whose name I can’t go back to ask) with the outer rinds.
It comes with two BPA free, non-toxic and rugged plastic cups. Well, some of our testers (who have been using the NutriBullet for a while) confessed that the blender had fallen but didn’t break. The 32 oz and 24 oz cups are sturdy and robust.
Unlike the Nutri Ninja, the NutriBullet cups have top flip lids. They are also very tight and secure so that you can carry them around without fear of spilling your drink.
Nutri Ninja Pro VS NutriBullet Pro
These two blenders are giants in the class of bullet blenders. They even have similar components. Each of them is worth buying. However, each one has its strengths and weaknesses.
Now we will look at the differences between the components of both blenders, and we will discuss how these differences affect their results and overall performance.
When we got the Nutri Ninja, we were awed by the advertised 1000 watts powered engine against the 900 watts in the NutriBullet 900 Pro blender. Still, when they worked, both of them showed similar energy in blending fresh fruits and vegetables into smooth drinks.
However, the Nutri Ninja is better when it comes to crushing ice and frozen ingredients without giving chunks in the drink. So if you are such a person that loves cold treats, choose Nutri Ninja. Because of their powerful motor, both blenders are a little bit noisy. We couldn’t measure which was noisier because they both made loud noises when they work.
Both NutriBullet Pro 900 and the Nutri Ninja pro works with a single speed setting. This means that it is the same Pulse effect they both have. They both are also operated by merely holding the blender cup down on the blender base. But the Nutri Ninja has a twist to lock mechanism, and you have to hold it down to blend. Whereas, the NutriBullet is engaged simply by pressing down and allowing it to work. They both crushed and blended our almond-kale smoothies so conveniently and in seconds.
Both blenders come with two cross blades that are capable of crushing and producing consistent blends. With ingredients like nuts and coffee beans, we made smooth drinks. The blades are designed differently.
First, let us see the blades of the Nutri Ninja Pro. The blades are designed so well that they face up and down directly. This means that the blades can blend everything in the cup even if they run under the blades. I guess that’s why they are called Pro Extractor blades. Looking closely at the blending process, we see how the blades spiral the ingredients from the top down to itself and also sends the ones below to the top. The Nutri Ninja Pro comes with thicker blades than the NutriBullet Pro.
The NutriBullet Pro comes with tornado styled blades that are good for scraping and blending. However, they are not that strong as the Nutri Ninjas. They cannot crush large chunks of ice unless you break the ice. This problem is the same with the Nutri Ninja Pro.
Whenever I am looking to buy a blender, no matter the size, I look at the blender jar capacity. For these blenders, we saw they purchased come with a good measure that complements the compact nature of bullet blenders.
The NutriBullet Pro comes with two large cups, and one has a capacity of 32 oz and the other 24 oz. The two cups are BPA free plastic cups, and they are very sturdy and rugged so that they are not easy to break.
On the other hand, the Nutri Ninja Pro Blender comes with three cups. The biggest holds 24 oz, the next 18oz and the smallest is 12oz. The cups are made out of Tritan material which experts say is BPA free.
Both cups are dishwasher safe. Even then, they are straightforward to clean even manually.
The blender prices vary since they are trendy and widely sold across the world. So there would be various prices depending on the parts or the store you are buying from. Performance Comparison Nutri Ninja Pro VS NutriBullet Pro
To test these blenders, we used the hardest ingredients and tried to push each one to its extreme. We got the same ingredients inside both mixers. These ingredients are delicate for many blenders: roasted almonds, carrots, celery, and kale. Because they are pretty fibrous, many blenders would not even work through. We also added ice to see how they would fare.
In about 30 seconds, we checked our blends. Forget about the taste. These ingredients don’t go together in a smoothie. We had to water the juice well to get the required consistency in the end.
Now, when we did a little screen or test on the results, we found that the NutriBullet blended well, but the juice still got some fiber in it. We were not sure which fruit is left in the residue. The NutriBullet Pro came out finer and smoother than the Nutri Ninja on ice and fibrous fruits and vegetables. But don’t be quick to judge. Look at our verdict and see which blender fits your specific needs.
Our Final Verdict – NutriBullet VS Nutri Ninja
Although both blenders are made for making smoothies, they are both consistent, and pretty much almost on the same level.
When it comes to making smoothies or blending seeds and leafy greens, we would recommend the Nutri Ninja Bullet for better consistency and smoother drinks. It has stronger blades. If you want to make smoothies with leafy greens and significant fibrous ingredients, use the NutriBullet Pro blender.
About crushing ice and pulverizing frozen ingredients, the Nutri Ninja does a better job to produce more refined blends. If you want the same level of consistency with the NutriBullet, you have to put it on to run a little longer.
Plus, some people say that the NutriBullet is perfect for making soups that are not hot as well as shakes and smoothies.
Overall, both blenders are suitable for your specific blending needs, so you look at whichever fits you and go for it! Please, get your blender and tell us your experience.
