When Dave and Eric talked about comparing Vitamix to NutriBullet and making an article about it, I shouted. I didn’t think any NutriBullet blender could stand any Vitamix Blenders. All blenders have their individual and peculiar strengths, yes. And the Vitamix has been around for a while. Even so, Vitamix makes commercial blenders more, and the NutriBullet is only a compact personal blender for making smoothies. I thought that even the Vitamix S36 Bullet blender could not compare to NutriBullet Pro. I was wrong! So you want to know which is better between Vitamin S30 and NutriBullet Pro? You would love this article!
You should know that the Vitamix S30 blender is stronger and it is much more expensive than the NutriBullet Pro, which is far less than half the price of the Vitamix. So we bought the Vitamix S30 and (we already have the NutriBullet Pro 900 from our comparison of NutriBullet and Nutri Ninja. Click here to read it) we got the NutriBullet out to work. We tried blending vegetable smoothies and almond butter on both.Unbiased Guide to Know Your Perfect Fit :Oster Blender Review:
Which is Better, Nutri Ninja, or NutriBullet?
Both blenders are explicitly made for fast smoothies and milkshakes, kinds of butter and soup making but depending on what exactly you need a bullet blender for, you must check not only the price of a mixer but also other aspects which we will be discussing in detail in a jiffy.
Both blenders have amazing features, and I am not sure why you love them, but whatever you need a blender for, we will look together to help you decide which would best suit your needs between the Vitamix S30 and the NutriBullet Pro 900.
#1 – Overview
FIRST CONTENDER: NUTRIBULLET PRO 900
- With 900 watts of power, the Pro is faster and stronger than the original, but just as simple to use. Load it up with dense whole foods like nuts, seeds, hard fruits, and kale, then push, twist and blend your way to a healthier lifestyle.
- Optimized 900-watt motor and refined nutrient extraction blades blend The toughest whole foods into nutritious shakes, smoothies, and nut butters.
NutriBullet Pro blender is perfect for smoothies, and the build is compact and easy to use and clean. It comes with a powerful motor that has a 1.2-horsepower motor which gives it the ability to cut through and pulverize everything you put in it including ice and frozen fruit to deliver smooth and consistent smoothies. The NutriBullet Pro offers impressive blending power, affordable cost, and effectiveness in a compact machine.
The NutriBullet’s cups are BPA free and are small enough to carry around with your drinks in them, and they are also big enough to make your drinks and desserts as a single-serve side meal.
The blades of the NutriBullet are also impressive as they work through ingredients very comfortably. We will let you know about the performance of both blenders in our tests with different ingredients.
SECOND CONTENDER: VITAMIX S 30
- 20-ounce portable container with flip-top lid
- 40-ounce compact container for small family meals
The Vitamix S30 is a powerful blender as all Vitamix is. Vitamix mixers are famous for their world-class functionality and effectiveness. And they live up to that standard in all their products from Countertops to performance blenders.
It is only recently that Vitamix began to add personal smoothie blenders to their lineup. This might be because many more people are becoming health conscious and are happy to make blends on the go rather than spend a fortune to buy unhealthy preserved juices. The Vitamix S30 and its counterpart S55 come at a very high cost if you ask me, although they offer many sweet features than you can only dream of with a NutriBullet. Speed settings, additional space, tamper, and so on.
Vitamix S30 VS NutriBullet Pro 900 – Back to Back Comparison
Now we have seen what both blenders have to offer, and we gave them both equal opportunities to unleash what they are made of. Both of them are good, as they both have strengths and weaknesses. Some of NutriBullet’s forces are Vitamix’s weaknesses, and that is where it got interesting. Let us look at them from their features first:
#2 – Features
FIRST CONTENDER: NUTRIBULLET PRO 900
The NutriBullet Pro 900 is a big name and is popular among people who love making smoothies and drinks fast and real quick.
With 900 watts, the NutriBullet Pro is a versatile and robust blender. The NutriBullet has a 1.2-horsepower motor. This is why we could trust the NutriBullet to give us the best blends even from hard seeds, fibrous veggies, and ice. This blender is the best option for making all your vegetable and fruit smoothies.
This tremendous motor power makes a lot of noise, though, yet the NutriBullet is a strong bullet blender and can make smoothies in very little time without complications.
The Nutribullet comes with the only one-speed setting, and that is the Pulse feature that is engaged when you lock and twist the cup in. The motor runs fast enough to make smoothies out of any ingredients in about 30 seconds. If you are not OKAY with your results, try another round.
The NutriBullet comes with six-pronged blades that are designed so well that they are like short flat end knives that are perfect for pulverizing any ingredients you throw in Even then, the blades are not sturdy enough to crush large chunks of ice unless you break the ice into smaller particles. Called Pro Extractor, these blades can blend everything so far they are close to the bottom. That was the issue we had with making almond butter as the ingredients were sticky and the blades didn’t get to them. However, smoothies were no problem for the NutriBullet 900.
Although the design is beautiful, an expert asserts that the pro extractor blades in the NutriBullet are not worth it as they might not last long before they get rusty or start to dull on the edges. However, considering the cost of obtaining replacement blades, I still think the NutriBullet is worth a shot.
The NutriBullet Pro 900 comes with two cups. Both are large enough to serve your big appetite. The first is 32 oz, and the smaller one is 24 oz. Now, they are made from cheap plastic. This means that it can quickly develop cracks and so (even though they say they are dishwasher safe) we would not recommend you wash them in a dishwasher or you might break them with the stress.
The cups are straightforward to carry around with your smoothies. Also, you should not keep your drinks in the cups for too long because they don’t have any insulation whatsoever. They are not designed to keep drinks for too long.
The NutriBullet is moderately priced, and I believe that this is one of the reasons why the NutriBullet blender is becoming more and more popular. Even though the price varies from store to store, we recommend that you buy directly from Amazon using this linkYou may also like to read: Vitamix VS Ninja: A Pro Cook Blender Review
SECOND CONTENDER: VITAMIX S 30
The Vitamix S 30 personal blender is also a beautiful blender that is easy to use, clean and carry around as it also has a complimentary smoothie cup along with the other set. Let’s look at the components of this world-class blender and see how it compares with the NutriBullet Pro.
A 790-watt motor and experts power the Vitamix S 30 say that it can work up to 840 watts at peak. The motor is very powerful enough to prepare hot soups (yes. Unlike the NutriBullet, which can only be used to make blends, the Vitamix S 30 can be used for hot soups) and ice creams.
The Vitamix S 30 is equipped with an automatic system that shuts the blender off when it overheats. This is very effective. The motor is so strong & sturdy and can blend anything from hard seeds and nuts to smoothies.
In terms of speed and speed settings, the Vitamix S 30 is very much the better of the two. It has ten variable speeds and a pulse feature! This enables you to control the blender speed to your preference.
The speed of the S30 on the highest is more than that of the NutriBullet Pro even though the NutriBullet has 900 watts powered motor.
The Vitamix S 30 comes with a versatile blade that locks on the two containers that the blender has. The blades are four-pronged unlike the six prongs on the NutriBullet. However, unlike the NutriBulet’s blades, the Vitamix S 30’s blades are made of stainless steel and are of very high quality. Even the material for the plastic base of the blades are very sturdy and of good quality hard plastic. The blades in the Vitamix S 30 are well built and designed to last for many years without being scared of wear and tear or replacement.
The Vitamix S 30 also comes with two cups like the Nutri bullet Pro. However, unlike the NutriBullet Pro, the containers are made from Tritan BPA free plastic and are of very high quality. They are both temperature proof so that you can keep your hot soups in either of them for a while, and they would still keep their temperature.
The two containers are 40 oz and 20 oz. The 40 oz jar is more like a countertop blender jar with a rubber lid. You can from there use the tamper to push your ingredients around as we did with the almond nuts. The smaller cup, on the other hand, is made explicitly for smoothies and is operated upside down like the NutriBullet’s cups.
Experts say that the 20 oz smoothie jug has more insulation than the bigger jar so that you can keep your smoothies or juices hot or cold for a long time.
As I would always say, the prices of these things vary. But as you would have guessed with the name Vitamix, you should be looking at spending more than a couple of hundred dollars. Amazon offers a very competitive price. Why not use this link to check out the latest price on Amazon and how the Vitamix S 30 can get to you.
Performance Test – Vitamix S 30 VS NutriBullet
We made the two blenders go through a series of tests so that we can help all our lovers and you are there counting on this article to choose based on your preference. now ask yourself, “What do I need a bullet blender for?”
When we tested out our two blenders with smoothies, we put in some celery, kale, and carrots (with leaves). Well, we had no intention of making anything worth eating. LOL. Just something to show which of the blenders can handle fibrous ingredients better. We found that after 30 seconds, the NutriBullet appears done, and it gave more beautiful results than the Vitamix. I believe that if we had waited to run the Vitamix for more than 30 seconds, it might deliver. However, there were little particles in the NutriBullet’s blend also, but they were not as much as the Vitamix after the mix.
So if you are the kind of person who lives alone or always wants something real quick to whip up and drink, buy the NutriBullet for your swift smoothies. But make sure only to run for 30 seconds, pause, another 30 seconds That would increase the lifespan of your NutriBullet blender.
Don’t waste your time on getting the NutriBullet crush ice. We had to break the ice ourselves before we could run the NutriBullet blender over ice. However, the Vitamix S 30 has perfect ice crushing power.
If you love it chilled and professional, go for the Vitamix S 30.
We tried making something fresh and edible with both blenders, and we used basil leaves, garlic and other ingredients in both mixers to see how well they can whip up purees. Before we could get a pure blend (without annoying I-am-gonna-die! noise), we had to water the NutriBullet. I guess the NutriBullet is not made for purees or butter because it works on water and it needs 30 seconds pause.
Conversely, the Vitamix S 30 gave us the perfect Presto, and we are happy to share!
If you need something to make you professional purees, you should not consider buying the NutriBullet Pro blender, but you should buy the Vitamix S 30 bullet blender.
Hot Soup or Coffee
The Vitamix is the one made for this particular task. The NutriBullet is not made for this, and they never said they were. Hence, we never tried to make hot soup in the NutriBullet.
Nut Butter or Milk
When it comes to grinding nuts, the NutriBullet gave me a tough time (I must vent here because I was the one who handled the NutriBullet for this task). Granted, they said the NutriBullet Pro needed rest after six 30 seconds run, but when we blended almond nuts in it, albeit we gave it regular pauses after running for 30 seconds, it could not even move at all after four rounds. After the fifth round, I was discouraged, and I had to remove the cup and pour out the blend. I was picking out whole nuts that had not even been touched at all.
The Vitamix S 30 handled things professionally. It only needed the tamper to make the nuts go in faster, but after a minute, the butter was ready and was very smooth and consistent.
If you want something to grind your nuts, seeds, beans, and so on, pour them into a Vitamix S 30 and not a NutriBullet Pro 900 unless you like to wait till eternity to get your results.
Our Verdict – Vitamix S 30 VS NutriBullet
Depending on what your needs are, both blenders are perfect at what they do and what they are made for. However, if you need something professional, especially if you have a small family, you should love to use the Vitamix S 30. You have a large jar for your use. If you are not going to need more blending done every day, and you need some sweet and smooth smoothies and juices still, go for the NutriBullet Pro 900.
